This month has absolutely flown by! And the 22nd of September saw the official launch of our new studio here at Squirrels Interiors in Stockbridge. From sourcing the gifts for our goodie bags, designing our smart new brochures, and arranging the drinks and canapés, September has seen us being busier than usual with the preparation of the first in a series of events.

In my last post, I spoke a bit about the changes we were undertaking in transforming Squirrels purely into a design studio by foregoing our retail floor, and Thursday night was an opportunity for our clients to explore our new specialised design space and indulge in some personal shopping, accompanied by flowing bubbly and delicious canapés.

We had the pleasure of being joined by Sam Walsh and Philip George from the GP & J Baker group who gave a stunning presentation on the new autumn collections from GP & J Baker and Mulberry Home – Historic Royal Palaces and Festival. GP & J Baker and Mulberry Home are responsible for some of my all time favourite fabrics, and these new collections do not disappoint. The Historic Royal Palaces collection by GP & J Baker in particular is beautiful – and encompasses darkly romantic printed velvets and exquisite embroideries inspired by items and architecture from Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace, and the Tower of London.

It is easy to see why it was so successful at the Homes & Gardens Fabric Awards this year. It is safe to say that the collections were as equally well received by our guests (especially if the number of sample requests is anything to go by), and the fizz and yummy canapés went down a treat!

With the success of this event, and October nearly upon us, we are already starting preparation for a luxury Christmas shopping event in November. More details to follow!
